Ware Malcomb appoints Mary Grbic Cheval as director of interior architecture and design


Ware Malcomb, an international design firm, has appointed Mary Grbic Cheval as director of interior architecture and design. In his new role, Cheval will be responsible for overseeing the growth and management of its interior and design studio as well as all interior projects originating from its head office in Irvine, California. Currently Cheval is working on projects for Charles Schwab and Microsoft.

Commenting on his new role, Cheval said, “Ware Malcomb has an excellent reputation in the market. I am delighted to help extend their already established success, expanding our services to new clients with an emphasis on creative and customer-centric design.

Cheval has over 30 years of experience in the industry, and prior to joining Ware Malcomb, she was a Director at Gensler. Previously, she was Director of Interior Design at Studio SA and Senior Vice President at Bozarth CM, a construction management company. She has worked on projects in several industries including trade offices, healthcare, and science and technology.

“Having excellent communication skills that are used both internally and externally is important for any leadership role,” she says. “In particular, the ability to effectively listen to each client’s unique goals and aspirations is essential. A thoughtful design solution can then be articulated that is both inspiring and performance driven, and can enhance the employee experience and positively affect the culture of an organization.
