The international furniture fair goes online to present new products

Malaysian International Furniture Fair (MIFF) is hosting the third edition of the MIFF Furniverse online exhibition until Friday, with no physical fair this year.

The organizer, Informa Markets, has decided to bring the show exhibitors together again to meet the furniture sourcing needs of global buyers.

The third edition, which kicked off yesterday, showcases new suppliers, designs and products to further inspire global buyers to participate and be part of the online sourcing journey, with an enhanced exhibition platform.

It brought together 50 furniture suppliers from Malaysia, Japan, Poland and USA as exhibitors.

On board, as Gold Sponsors, Singapore-based exhibitor Sourcebynet which designs, sources and supplies a wide range of furniture and flooring products from around the world; France Bed, Japanese specialist in bedroom furniture; as well as Ashley, the world’s largest home furniture manufacturer, based in the United States.

In addition to the exhibitor showcase, the MIFF Furniverse continues to showcase the MIFF Creative Business webinar series as one of the platform’s highlights.

Yesterday, the online event hosted industry professionals from Poland for a discussion on “Polish Wood and Furniture”.

Today, attendees can join Peter Pederson of Sourcebynet, Walter Tan of Elemental Republic and Lim Bo Qiang of Paperworks Studio and Basicology, in “The Design Trend 2022”.

Bringing new ideas to the table, major players in the furniture industry will join forces with Dr Eric Leong from Malaysia, who is the chief judge of the show’s furniture design competition.

“This is a good initiative during this time of Covid-19 and such an interactive platform has made it very useful and exciting,” said Rahul Gupta from India.

“A great way to stock up on produce while being unable to travel due to government regulations,” added Peter Shepherd from Australia.

Buyers can register through www.mifffurniverse.com to receive free access to the platform to connect with international furniture manufacturers and sellers.

The second edition of the MIFF Furniverse, which took place in March, generated over US $ 4.55 million (RM 19.48 million) in sales during a five-day live event.

It attracted over 1,700 visits from professional buyers from 103 countries and regions looking to source new products and place orders.

The majority of buyers were importers, wholesalers, distributors, retailers, online stores, buying agents and interior designers.
