About Snøhetta:

Snøhetta is an integrated architecture, landscape, interior, product design and graphic design agency based in Oslo, New York, Innsbruck, Paris, Adelaide, Hong Kong and San Francisco. US offices work on architectural, interior and landscape architecture projects associated with libraries, performance spaces, master plans, universities, waterfronts, parks planning, urban redevelopments and public squares across the Americas.

Snøhetta is looking for a Project Manager for our Interior Design team who is committed to creating and developing exemplary design from concept to execution.

ABOUT THE JOB:

A project manager is a leadership position within the company in which a person helps define and achieve the vision of the project with directors and associates. Project Managers move a project forward, lead an internal team, coordinate with consultants, and work on all items agreed upon in the contract. They build relationships with the client and other stakeholders and consultants, as well as managers and partners, with increasing responsibility as projects progress. Project managers develop and mentor those on their project team(s). They may work on multiple projects at Snøhetta and are involved in employee recruitment and project acquisition efforts.

Beyond what is listed below, we are looking for candidates with experience in the following areas:

The ideal candidate will have a solid foundation and extensive experience in designing and developing interiors, either independently or as part of an architectural project.

The project manager is exposed to various working methods focused on the following main actions:

  • Thinking: generation of design content through various mediums
  • Doing: production of drawings, presentations and general design production tasks
  • interaction: participation and leadership in meetings, project discussions, employee development and studio life

Depending on a candidate’s experience and background, they will be recognized as a project manager or senior project manager.

How will you do the job:

Design: Works with Lead Partner, Discipline Director and others to formulate and execute project design direction. Organize, budget and schedule charrettes during the design phases. Lead and direct the interior design team and provide strong conceptual design input in the development of the “design strategy” where the overall design, mood, look and materiality of a project will be defined and presented to the project architect or client.

Delivery: Manage the project delivery process and drive development forward by leading the team in multiple ways. Help develop and directly manage the budget, schedule, team, consultants, design, fees and day-to-day documentation and meet the terms of the project contract. Define the staffing requirements for the job and enter the data into Planifi.

Leadership: You are a leader at Snøhetta and demonstrate reliability, candor, self-awareness and humility. Develop a range of leadership skills including management, collaboration, design, project execution and team development. Actively develop team members professionally through on-the-job teaching and mentoring. Conduct conversations and performance reviews for team members.

Initiative: Prioritize and delegate work based on project needs or Snøhetta initiatives. Hold yourself and your team accountable to ensure project deadlines and deliverables are met

Snøhetta culture: You are a model citizen of Snøhetta who contributes to a positive and inclusive organizational culture. You build trust and prioritize team success over an individual program. You are responsible for our work and actions, respectful of others, and engage in healthy debate. You commit to doing great work and pay attention to results. You acknowledge that we work in a changing industry and that we adapt to change and participate in a meaningful way. You know the value of mentorship and build meaningful relationships with your colleagues.
